However, in most applications, this model was applied as a one-to-one replacement for hydrology models without adapting or rethinking the experimental setup. We utilized it to simulate future changes in cryosphere and hydrology in the Hulu catchment. We find that threshold processes in the runoff generation lead to such a relatively high occurrence probability of extremes. Our results can help to improve the estimation of the occurrence probability of extreme floods.
