Short summary
Water quality of lakes depends on deep convection. In many lakes, this is affected by thermobaricity, the temperature dependence of the compressibility of water. We created a numerical approach to demonstrate and emphasize the implementation of this effect in numerical lake models. We conceptually present the purely one dimensional thermobaric deep convection induced by denser water created by vertical cabbeling across the temperature of maximum density at a certain depth in the water column.
